Physical & Health Education
Department Goal
Vision
To develop students who have the skills, values, and confidence to enjoy
a lifetime of active and healthy living.
Mission
To build strong foundations in fundamental movement skills (FMS) and inspire
students to remain active beyond their schooling years through enjoyable
and meaningful physical activities.
Framework
The Physical Education programme is guided by two key aspirations: Sports for All and Sports Excellence. Together, these reflect our commitment to ensuring inclusive participation while providing opportunities for students to strive towards higher levels of achievement.
This is operationalised through three interconnected pillars: Enrich, Support, and Stretch, which collectively provide a balanced and holistic approach to student development.
🔵 Enrich (PE Curriculum)
The Enrich pillar focuses on providing all students with broad-based exposure to physical activities through a structured and progressive Physical Education curriculum. Emphasis is placed on the development of fundamental movement skills, physical competence, and the cultivation of positive attitudes towards active living.

Whole School Experiences
To further reinforce the development of active and healthy lifestyles, the department implements whole-school initiatives that complement the three pillars:
-
Active Friday, which promotes regular participation in physical activity through structured school-wide programmes;
-
Health Awareness Week, which builds students’ awareness and understanding of healthy living through activities such as the Health Plate Competition and partnerships with external organisations.
Our Commitment
Through the integrated approach of Enrich, Support, and Stretch, the Physical Education programme seeks to develop students who are physically competent, resilient in character, and motivated to lead active and healthy lives. This framework ensures that every student is supported in their journey from participation to personal growth and, where appropriate, towards excellence.
